Why did you enjoy traveling to this destination?
After reading Ann Frank I found going to the museum put it into a whole new perspective. It was quite moving. Too see a city with so many canals and so few cars. The mode of transportation is by boat, foot, bikes and public transportation. People tell you that Amsterdam is full of bikes but it is really hard to comprehend until you actually see it. There is actually a bike garage there! I t was interesting to see the countryside and to learn about their culture.
Best time of year to travel here:
Spring, it's when the tulips are in bloom.
What tips can you offer someone interested in traveling to this destination?
Stay in a hotel that is on a canal with a view. It's so fun to watch the boats pass by and to get to really experience the destination.. Make sure to visit the countryside to see windmills, tulips and how wooden shoes are made. If you know there are certain museums you would like to see, pre-purchase the tickets, they can sell out. Watch out for the bikes, they fly by and rule the road! No need to rent a car. Parking is very limited and the streets are narrow.
Is this destination best for families, couples, etc?
In the city I would say it would be best for adults.
