Why did you enjoy traveling to this destination?

The pure beauty! Highlights of the trip - The Golden Circle which includes Gullfoss, Geysir and Thingvellir National Park.   You can also see glaciers,  black sand beaches and mother nature at it's best.  They have museums, Hallgrímskirkja (Church of Island), festivals and great culinary experiences.

Best time of year to travel here:

It all depends on what you want to see and do.  The summer months have longer daylight hours, almost no darkness,  and the best weather.  Great for hiking, whale watching and seeing puffins.  If you want to see the Northern Lights the best time is winter since the nights are longer but the weather can be brutal.

What tips can you offer someone interested in traveling to this destination?

Typically you arrive early in the morning when things are closed and you can't get into your hotel.  I suggest heading to the Blue Lagoon, a geothermal spa.  It's a great way to start your journey!  When packing make sure you have gear for all weather and dress in layers.  It is very easy to drive there since they drive on the right and it's hard to get lost with such few roads!  Don't want to drive, there are plenty of tours available.  You can walk the city easily but is a bit hilly.  Plan ahead, the accommodations can be hard to come by during the busy times of the year.

Is this destination best for families, couples, etc?

Families that love the outdoors.
