In the recent past, the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company announced its zeal to crossover over in the hospitality industry, with plans to launch a one-of-its-kind lavish cruising yacht line. Working in partnership with Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection managing director, Douglas Prothero, and Oaktree Capital Management fund, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, has set a record as the pioneer luxury hotelier to provide cruising and yachting services subject to a long-term operating agreement.
The new venture, Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, will feature a series of three yachts with plans underway to hit the water in last quarter of 2019. The project capitalizes to offer exceptional freedom of a cruising and yachting vacation that will distinctively place Marriott International as the sole provider of fantastic accommodation services both at sea and on land.
Douglas Prothero, the Ritz-Carlton and Maritime Managing Director, commented on how The Ritz-Carlton has created a name for its high standards and legendary service. Lars Clasen, Managing Director the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection expressed their delight to collaborate with The Ritz-Carlton as their hospitality operator. He also emphasized on their anticipation to succeed in offering the most exclusive experiences at sea in an endeavor to give fresh meaning to curated luxury level.
With an approximate 190-meters in size, every vessel is designed to accommodate a maximum of 298 passengers within 149 suites each featuring a fascinating private balcony. Besides, the yacht will comprise of two 138 square-meter squire twin penthouse suites with internal finishes and modern artistry developed by Ritz-Carlton in collaboration with Tillberg Design of Sweden. In addition to a restaurant by Sven Elverfeld onboard, other exciting entertainment facilities include a lovely lounge bar and Ritz Carlton Spa, all geared towards provision of an unprecedented level of personalized customer service.
A program is being developed to incorporate a seven to ten days voyage, cruising through different destinations including Northern Europe, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and Latin America. The compact size of the yacht puts the vessel at an advantage to reach distinct locations normally inaccessible by large cruise ships such as Capri, Portofino, and Cartagena. Plans are underway to provide unique curated destinations by teaming up with local chefs, artists, and musicians enabling guests to experience these locations in exceptional ways.
The Ritz Carlton Yachts Collection is set to offer guests an excellent combination of overnight and daytime ports of call that will bring luxury travel into a whole new level to anyone looking forward to exploring the world in a friendly, classic, relaxed and comfortable environment. The cruise line intends to embrace both travelers who have previous experience with Ritz Carlton brand, and new cruisers in the ever-expanding luxury cruises market.
Bookings will be open by May 2018.
