Backroads offers a variety of trips for active travelers with multiple mileage options and van support available each day for maximum flexibility.

Biking: On a Backroads biking trip, you'll pedal the world's most scenic routes on our custom designed 30-speed titanium bicycles. These are lightweight bikes specifically made for road touring. You'll select from several mileage options each day and travel at your own pace. You can ride as much or as little as you like. We travel on quiet back roads and explore an area in depth.

Walking: On a Backroads walking trip, life's little details come alive, creating unforgettable encounters and cultural revelations. Mingle with the local people, take the time to explore the destination a little deeper and savor the local cuisine and wines. Trips for both weekend walkers and avid hikers are available with multiple route options each day and van support when you need it.

Multi-Adventure: Multi-adventure trips are not triathlons! In fact, these trips are an easygoing way to explore, combining biking and walking with other fun-filled activities (kayaking, rafting, snorkeling, etc.) to thoroughly explore a region.

Family Trips: Backroads' Family Trips are for kids ages 4 - 25+ with departures all over the world and throughout the year to match up with school vacations. They are fun, stimulating adventures designed to captivate the whole gang. Whether you're biking to castles or spotting wildlife from a kayak, you'll connect with your kids and do things they enjoy in an environment that positively transforms family interaction.
